Four multiplayer modes are offered, one of which can be utilized by two players sharing a single cartridge, the others - Tag, Bumper Cars, and Bandit - support up to four players, but only if each player owns a copy of the title. The latter is a Mario Kart-esque challenge whereby players must complete a number of laps within a given time limit. Interspersed throughout the title are quasi-3D levels that see Rayman on water-skis or behind the wheel of a bumper car. Throughout the adventure Rayman will collect Lums and rescue teensies, and only by acquiring all 1000 Lums will access to the final stage be granted. ![]() Familiar abilities, such as the Power Punch and Helicopter, are now imbued from the outset, and once again Rayman will acquire much-needed enhancements as he progresses through the game. This time, Rayman sets off to aid his friend Globox, who has inadvertently ingested the Lord of the Dark Lums, a source of great evil. ![]() Like Rayman Advance before it, Rayman 3 challenges players to make their way through an assemblage of side-scrolling levels running, jumping, and fighting their way through a number of obstacles.
